One of the main attractions of Krabi Town is the so-called "tiger cave". Although I would rather call it "the big Buddha on the mountain". Since it is most memorable, and not some small cave.
How to get to Tiger Cave Temple
The easiest and cheapest way is to rent a scooter and drive to Tiger Cave on your own. It is located 5 kilometers from Krabi Town, it is really 30-40 minutes to go. The main thing is to turn at the right turn. Here's a map of where you need to get there: One of the main attractions of Krabi Town is the so-called "tiger cave". In addition, you can take a taxi or moto taxi and get there with a driver. It is better to go for the whole day in the morning. Believe me, after 1237 steps, you will get very tired, and there is also a park where you can walk. What's nice is the price of the entrance to the Tiger Temple – everything there is absolutely free! Even a shower and toilet!
Personal experience of visiting the big Buddha and tiger cave
We went there in the morning. But as it turned out, in principle, there are not so many people there. I.e. there is no stampede on the stairs :-). It was possible to calmly go up and down, occasionally meeting tourists. At the entrance to the temple, you could see the following. Tigers Proper: Money Tree: Dragons:
And here are the photos from the Tiger Temple itself. This is just a spacious room, there are sometimes monks in red robes. There are also boxes for donations and a shop with souvenirs. If you donate some money, then you will be given a fabric bracelet as a gift (just a braided rope). Well, here are the photos of the temple inside:
In general, that's all. Let's move on. There is an alleyway where monkeys live. You need to be careful with them, because if you have food, then until they all take it all away, they will not calm down. And here is the entrance to the Buddha statue:
At the bottom there is a waterfall:
And a map of the park:
Immediately near the waterfall monkeys are roasting:
We decided to take a walk to the park after the Buddha. So we start climbing:
We have climbed quite a bit and there is already a beautiful view:
Already a little tired:
Sometimes the steps are almost knee-high, it is difficult and slow to go:
There is free water at the top, but we did not like it:
The view from above is really beautiful:
And here is the Buddha himself. By the way, to approach him you need to take off your shoes:
Rocks and clouds:
And here is Krabi Town:
Big Buddha again:
Go down and go to the park, which has no strength at all. It wasn't really interesting there. Nevertheless, we took a superficial look at it. There are caves, though small. Well, jungle jungle jungle. It's really scary at night. A bunch of extraneous noises. And here are the caves:
And a large tree, considered a landmark:
Jungle and Spider:
Overall, we were very tired during the day. But it is definitely worth going here! The place is great. And even free!
