What is the best way to go to Odessa?
It is best to go of course by train :-). Since you can sleep on the train and you will have a full 2 days of sightseeing. But you can go by car, but from Kiev the road on average takes 6 hours of daylight time. And in the car you get more tired, because you need to sit there. But there are pluses: there are no annoying neighbors.
Where to stay in Odessa for the night
The cheapest and best option is to rent an apartment for rent, this is if there are a lot of you. Of course, you can also book a hotel room on Booking , but prices there start from 250 UAH. And often it is a small room without a window. We rented a two-room apartment in the city center for 640 UAH per day. There were 2 double beds + a folding armchair, and another cool repair, TV, kitchen, toilet, hot water shower. In general, very not even bad and not much more expensive than a hotel. You can find an apartment in Odessa through search engines or on bulletin boards, such as Slando and others. Just be careful with prepayment! We did not send it, because there are many scammers who rent non-existent apartments on prepayment, so we do not pay prepayment if you are not sure of the owner!
What to see in Odessa
1) Delivery. Located next to the railway station. Big market. I was interested in it solely because of the dry fish and Black Sea shrimp. There is a very large selection of rams! Address of Privoz: Privoznaya, 14 2) City Center, Deribasovskaya Street and everything nearby. In Odessa, it is just nice to walk around the city center. There are a bunch of ideological cafes where it's just nice to be and look at the décor. In addition, there are a lot of small attractions in the form of monuments and a chair – which is constantly in line to take pictures. 3) Potemkin Stairs, Funicular and River Station. They are nearby – the stairs rest on this very station. The address of the Potemkin Stairs is the connection of Primorskaya Street and Primorsky Boulevard. First, you can go down from above to the river station, take a walk there and then climb the funicular to the top. By the way, once upon a time the funicular was free :-). 4) Arcadia. This is essentially a beach area and a small promenade, where you should go in the evening or at night. Since the main nightlife takes place in Arcadia. Address of Arcadia: Genuezskaya str. In Arcadia you can dance, sit in cafes overlooking the sea and swim. Well, in general, it is better to go there without girls :-).
Well, now a photo report on visiting Odessa by car and spending the night in Fontanka
We went to Odessa by car, left on Friday at lunchtime and arrived at almost 10 pm. We decided to spend the night in tents, so we immediately went to Fontanka – this is a suburb of Odessa. We started pitching tents when it was dark. In general, there are places where tents are placed, the only minus is that during the day people walk past them there – since this is a coastal zone. After spending the night, we decided to take a dip. The water was clean but very cold!
By the way, the funny thing is that next to us there was a waterfall with fresh water. I don't know if it's a sewer or a river).).
And here is such a hilly view of the Fontanka. As you can see, the car does not come close, it was left at the top.
In the morning by the way there were a lot of fishermen on boats:
A little more time and this beach will be filled with vacationers:

We go to the river station. We go around it, take pictures of the sea and large ships. At the station, by the way, you can take a river walk.
And then we went to Privoz. By the way, I recommend going there in the morning, because in the evening the choice is worse and in general. We were caught in the heavy rain!
Nevertheless, I bought some fish for myself. Well, then we sat in a funny cafe called Basil on Havana (http://bazilic.com.ua/interer-kafe-na-gavannoiy.php). There is also a café Basil on Deribasovskaya. The café in general is very nice. Cool mirror toilet:
And the interior:
Everything described above, we visited in 2 days and it was respectively 2 nights on the Fontanka. Well, on Sunday afternoon, we went home to Kiev. Meeting the sunset on the way. In general, I liked Odessa, it is ideal to go here for the weekend to swim and sit in cafes.
