The metro is pretty good. It costs really 2 lira, it's about one dollar. In Kiev, the metro costs a quarter of a buck. Tokens on the metro can be bought in Tokenomatics :-). These are such machines where you can throw change or feed bills, and in return receive tokens for travel. Machines give change! Therefore, you can not be afraid that you will spend 50 liras on 25 tokens :-). At each metro station, there is a map with stops! This is very positive, as you can think about the route in advance. 
Stops are all announced in advance halfway to the station. Everything is duplicated in English! This is also very positive, because in Turkish it is quite difficult to understand the names and their sound. We did not make transfers, because on one branch you can get to the bus station and to the historic center of Istanbul, where most of the attractions are located. We went to the bus station…
