If you are flying to a distant land with a transfer, then take note of the following few tips. All of them apply to 99% of cases, i.e. there are exceptions, for example, when some airline does not feed you, etc.
So, a long-distance flight with a transfer, features:
1) First, airlines are obliged to feed you on the plane. Even with the flight, which lasts an hour and a half and then, they carry a snack and drinks. At the inspection, they are usually missed, i.e. food and water cannot be taken with you on the plane, but sneakers can be taken. In addition, you can buy something in Duti-Free.
Personal experience of flying from Moscow to Phuket via Abu Dhabi with a wait of 12 hours
It so happened that a cheap ticket to Thailand was with a transfer, and even with 12 hours of waiting. The plane from Moscow was Etihad Airways. We were very pleased with the flight to Abu Dhabi, because ours was fed 2 times on the plane. When we arrived at Abu Dhabi airport, at the entrance to the airport, we were offered to take blankets (so that we could take shelter and try to sleep) and coupons for free dinner and breakfast. The Living Room in Abu Dhabi is pretty good. There are chairs that are in a semi-recumbent position, i.e. on them in theory it is comfortable to sleep, although not quite. That is, we never got enough sleep and constantly tossed and turned on these recliners. Now for the food. Coupons can be exchanged for food in one of the establishments to choose from: McDonald's or Bricafe. We took dinner at Bricafe and breakfast at Mack. I want to note that the portions are not bad. There is both the first and second and compote :-). So during the flight, we did not eat badly. After half a sleepy night, we went to board the second plane, this time of the German company Air Berlin. We were also not badly fed on the plane and had free wine, beer and spirits. So flying a day, it's not so scary. The main thing is to approach and ask the airport staff if something is not clear or if there are any difficulties. They will definitely help you!
